Dedicated to enriching lives and improving our communities!
Ocasio’s True Martial Arts incorporates teaching our students key values for family, work and school as well as regularly participating in community service activities.
Among our many community service events, our largest is our annual Thanksgiving Turkey Brigade.
By helping those less fortunate, we become a team and through teamwork we can achieve miracles! Together we can make this a special holiday for many people in our community. We are proud to be a part of this wonderful tradition and we hope that you will be a part of it with us.
If you would like to volunteer for the next Turkey Brigade or any of our community service events please contact Kim Ocasio at 978-373-4100 or email her kimocasio@ocasiostruemartialarts.com
Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Brigade
Among our many community service events, our largest is our annual Thanksgiving Turkey Brigade. Throughout the year we employ many fund raising events to collect money towards feeding our goal of 400 or more families a complete Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings.
- Last year 455 Baskets were put together and delivered by our students, families and volunteers to families in need in the Southern New Hampshire and Merrimack Valley Region!!
- Our goal for this year is to double that number!
These baskets consist of the frozen turkey, the pan, potatoes, vegetables, rolls, gravy, stuffing and more. Each basket is then wrapped in brightly colored cellophane and whisked off to the waiting families. Enclosed in each basket is a card that says… “Happy Thanksgiving from the families at Ocasio’s True Martial Arts…This comes from someone who cares about you. All we ask is that you take care of yourself well enough to be able to do this for someone else someday!”
Over the past 16 years our students, families and friends have fed over 4000 families. They have given of themselves unselfishly, both financially as well as hands on. This year the need is still there and the staff and students have pledged to once again feed 400 families. Each basket has an approximate cost of $25.00. This is a large task, but many of our volunteer committee members are already hard at work raising funds through candle sales, Tupperware sales, bake sales, etc.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Monetary donations as well as actual basket items are most needed.
All contributions go directly to purchasing the items needed for filling the baskets.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
